What Pride Point Offers: LGBTQIA+ Inclusion, Safety and Domestic Abuse Expertise
Pride Point is a consulting, training and development company focused on LGBTQIA+ inclusion, relationships and safety, with a specialist focus on domestic abuse and coercive control in LGBTQIA+ communities. Our work is grounded in research and in the lived experiences of LGBTQIA+ people, and everything we do is about helping organisations and practitioners turn good intentions into confident, inclusive practice.
We support organisations, teams and leaders to build LGBTQIA+ inclusive policy and practice, to strengthen their equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) approaches, and to respond more confidently to domestic abuse, coercive control and relationship-based harm affecting LGBTQIA+ people. Many professionals care deeply about inclusion and safety but do not always feel equipped to respond in complex or sensitive situations. Our consultancy work is designed to bridge that gap by reviewing policy and procedure through an LGBTQIA+ lens, strengthening inclusive practice across services, and advising on safer organisational cultures and learning. We look at how systems, risk tools and pathways are working in practice, where LGBTQIA+ people may be falling through the gaps, and what needs to change to make organisations genuinely safer and more inclusive.
Training is another key part of what we offer. Our sessions on LGBTQIA+ inclusive practice help teams build a grounded understanding of LGBTQIA+ identities, relationships and experiences, and explore what meaningful inclusion looks like in day-to-day work. We also provide specialist training on domestic abuse and coercive control in LGBTQIA+ communities, supporting practitioners to recognise how abuse can show up in LGBTQIA+ relationships and to respond in ways that are safe, affirming and trauma aware. All training can be tailored for practitioners, teams or leaders, and is designed to be practical, reflective and rooted in real-world scenarios, with space for questions and discussion.
Alongside consultancy and training, we support grassroots culture building. Inclusion is not just a policy or a single workshop; it is the culture people encounter every day. Pride Point offers EDI advice and guidance to help shape inclusive events, campaigns and staff networks that reflect LGBTQIA+ lives and needs. We bring a trauma-aware approach to this work, helping organisations recognise the impact of homophobia, biphobia, transphobia and domestic abuse and to respond in ways that respect people’s dignity and agency. We can also support or coordinate events such as awareness days, learning sessions and community conversations that centre LGBTQIA+ voices and experiences.
December is an important time to highlight this work. For many LGBTQIA+ people, the festive period can bring increased isolation, pressure to return to unsupportive or unsafe environments and fewer opportunities to seek support as services close or reduce their hours. For LGBTQIA+ people experiencing domestic abuse or coercive control, these pressures can be especially intense. Organisations and workplaces have a vital role to play in recognising these realities, making it safer to disclose abuse or ask for help, and ensuring staff know how to respond in ways that are informed, compassionate and inclusive. Strengthening LGBTQIA+ inclusion, EDI and specialist domestic abuse knowledge is a key part of creating safer, more equitable environments for LGBTQIA+ communities.
